A handsome Great Dane with his Daddy
Dogfest started off with a blast, as soon as the gates were opened at 10:00AM the people were filing in wanting to be apart of the ongoing fun! Over 700 people ended up attending and brought dogs of all shapes and sizes, it was a sight to see! Our free bandannas were a huge hit and we were delighted to see hundreds of dogs wearing them. We were stationed in the Doggy Mall, so if you were able to attend Dogfest you might've noticed Noble Dog, along with many other vendors that showed up! The dog park was stunning as it was filled with hundreds of wagging tails, as the Dogfest four-legged attendees played together in the leash-free environment.
There was an adorable costume parade for all the dogs too. There were dogs dressed up like hot-fudge sundaes, grapes, princes and princesses. They all looked so cute and they sure were loving the attention they were getting from the smiling on-lookers. We were so excited when a Dogfest volunteer asked us to help vote for the best costume, and this grapevine Bulldog caught our attention. What a creative idea for a costume! There were other contests as well, such as; Largest Dog, Smallest Dog, Tallest Dog, Shortest Dog, Tidbit Catching, Dog Singing, and Best Trick! It was exciting to see all the participants having a good time with there four-legged buddies! Congratulations to all the winners. There were awesome agility displays, and a presentation by Disc Dogs of Michigan!
Tasha tuckered out
All-in-all Dogfest was a tail wagging good time. All of the dogs were spoiled all day long, with all the free treats and give-a-ways. We were delighted to contribute, and want to thank all the vendors for putting out water bowls for all those precious pets! A special thanks to all the Dogfest volunteers for putting on such a fantastic event! The turnout was spectacular, and we are looking forward to Dogfest 2013! It was touching to see all of the donations for Gleaners Pet Pantry, we know it meant a lot to them and it will make a lot of dogs in need happy. There were also rescue organizations there as well, one that caught our eye was Pug Rescue Network, and also Livingston County Humane Society! Finally, we want to give a huge God bless and thank you to Arise Church for opening up their hearts and dog park to put on such a beautiful event! At the end of the day we think there were a lot of tuckered out, but very happy dogs.
